Rupert Spira: Awareness Recognizing Itself - Buddha at the Gas Pump Interview

Discussion of this interview in the Batgap Community Facebook Group: Facebook: 2430514417174344 Also see https://batgap.com/rupert-spira/ Rupert Spira joins Rick Archer for a deep conversation about awareness, the apparent separate self, direct experience, and the nature of enlightenment. Rupert describes how his early interest in reality led him through years of study and practice in Advaita-Vedanta before meeting Francis Lucille, who directly pointed him to the true nature of experience. In this interview, he explores why awareness is the first and most immediate fact of experience, how the sense of separation can be examined through body sensations, and why spiritual teaching often points beyond words to presence, silence, and love. He also discusses the seeming objectivity of the world, the illusion of duality, the relationship between awareness and the body-mind, and the ongoing refinement that can follow realization. This is a rich and contemplative conversation for anyone interested in nonduality, self-inquiry, and the lived implications of awakening.
