Most people in India lacks scientific temper and a negligible portion of Indian population thinks critically, so making the rational movies in India is a loss making business.

If an atheist in a Bollywood movie is the main character he becomes theist by the end or if he is a villain he ends up dying.

Most of the movie's never really show a true athiest they show a thiest who is just angry and disappointed in God and that's who they call an atheist which is BS.

It's very difficult to make meaningful movies in Bollywood today. If the film industry wanted, it could eradicate the country's superstition, hypocrisy, and conservatism in a day, but it too is under pressure.

In 1955, a movie called "Railway Platform" was released which starred Sunil Dutt in the lead role. It had songs written by the famous poet Sahir Ludhianvi who used this opportunity to criticise and mock the song of the old "Nastik" film: Sahir Sahab wrote " Dekh tere bhagwan ki halat kya ho gayi insaan, kitna badal gaya bhagwan." I think that Sahir Sahab was a film lyricist who was not afraid to criticise the evils of society.

Old generations created religions, and newer generations like to fight over them cuz of their Ego.... while cannot fully accept the ideas written in their own religion, everyone cherry picks what they like....and, as a non believer I can't accept this idea, that all these religious people wholeheartedly believe in their version of God, yet they don't follow the teachings exactly the way they're written.

Most heroic work in Indian cinema is accomplished by Sahir in his songs
1. Tu hindu banega na musalmaan banega
2.Man hi devta, man hi ishwar, man se bada na koi
3. Zindagi Ittefaq hai

There was another movie Aasha,in which the character played by Girish Karnad who is also an atheist and turns theist by the end when the hero and heroine unite 😊 , atheism atheists and sceptics are treated in the same way as those characters who disbelieve ghosts in ghost stories
