My normal course of action when I get a bike is I ride it stock for a while, get used to it, and only then start messing around with things that bother me.

Your videos are so calm. The camera work is fantastic.
But the honesty is really appreciated.

The issue with not having a factory version like this from honda, is that if you want to convert it, you are buying a lot of stuff twice. And end up putting the parts that wasn't good enough in a box in the garage.

Greetings from Portugal! I follow your channel and I learn a lot from it. Your unbiased insight paired with your significant experience add a great deal of value for all of us weekend pilot aspirants. I own the exact same TA model as yourself. I initially purchased it as commuter plataform which has now evolved to a capable offroad machine with its own limitations. First step were the H&B protection accessories, BB hand guards, MG Biketec levers and tail tidy. Also added a SC Project Rally slip-on exhaust and SW-Motech gear and rear break pedals. The most significant improvement was the suspension as you mentioned. I went with a cheaper option Hyperpro front and rear springs and a fixed reservoir schock. It completed transformed the dynamic behaviour and has let me evolve my OffRoad skills. It feels safer even on the road. I occasioanilly ride with intermediate to experienced riders, of course I don't keep up with them but I feel this TA can now tackle the same challenges when I follow them. Keep up your invaluable work! Next week I'm off doing the PT ACT and remembering your tips on the back of my mind. Congrats

I gotta be honest. I bought a Transalp because of your videos about it. Love it.

excellent and I love that you didn't make a 45 minutes video out of it 😁

Man, a lot of people are so blessed with their height when it comes ot adventure riding. At 5'5" with a 30" inseam, I'm massively limited on what I can comfortably ride for off roading. I've opted for a CFMoto 450MT for the lower seat height, although I'd have loved a Tenere 700 or similar, but the fact of the matter is they're just too tall for me and I refuse to neuter them just so I can fit on them. Hearing how much you've lifted that bike and seeing you effortlessly flat foot both feet makes me extremely envious, I couldn't dream of doing such a thing.

Regarding the headlight, I make looms that plug into the original headlight connector and allow you to operate aftermarket headlights with original handlebar controls. I'm currently running LSK headlights on my XL750 If you're interested drop me a message and I can discuss with you.

Honda will never sell more advanced Transalp because people would stop buying Africa Twin.

Rebound in the rear seems to be very soft/fast, going on those gravel roads. Cool vid and awesome bike build.

Transalps will show their value in a year or 10 when they still out there riding without issues. Young people with smaller budgets will buy them to have their coming of age world trip, no hard enduro riding etc. Just plot around the world on a reliable bike that can take bad roads. Thats what this bike is about, that is what all Alps are about

What an awesome build! This is one of the joys of motorcycling isn't it, attempting to find that ever elusive perfect balance.
And it looks absolutely mint 🤙
