It would be funny if Jenny & Vanessa had a small rivalry since Vanessa kinda replaced her. very Hippie vs Goth, one鈥檚 passionate, the other鈥檚 nonchalant and Jenny likes everyone but Vanessa

An interesting detail is that Phineas and Ferb featured a strong 1970s aesthetic during its first two seasons; this could explain why Jenny is a hippie and why the main characters sport retro fashion. This is likely due to the creators having spent their childhoods during that era, as well as the wave of nostalgia for the 1960s and 70s that was prevalent in the 2000s. There is a term known as "contemporary retro," which refers to a work that features a retro aesthetic but is set in modern times.
