Never ask a woman her age, a man how much he makes, and an indie musician why their parent(s) name(s) are blue on Wikipedia.

This is what turned me off from the scene when my band was touring. One day I looked around and realized all of my peers had magic credit cards they never have to pay off themselves. Meanwhile I was stealing ketchup packets and oyster crackers so I could boil water and make ‘soup’ just so I put something in my stomach before playing a show.

Even going to a show now is completely unaffordable

A friend of mine had access to a recording studio in Brooklyn, so we went down one night to record a track. There was stuff thrown everywhere, comic books, old instruments, etc. but it all looked weirdly placed. It turns out the guy who owned the studio had rich parents who had funded the whole thing, and they had interior decorators come in and place various objects around the studio to make it look "hip". That's basically the music industry now.
