  Great tips on the 5 shots that need work.  Each player must self-assess which area needs most work.  I found that improving the approach shots helped me save enough strokes to make up for the triples that resulted from bad tee shots.  If I can improve both approach and driver, I can shoot 92

  I have discovered that if I can drive 175 yards and end on the fairway I can generally shoot in the mid 90s . Course management and stop the 3 putts.

  Some valuable reality checks here - need to have some perspective on the level of YOUR game and not what anyone else is doing. Work on these consistently, don’t let the mist of unrealistic expectations descend on you when choosing your next shot, and your scores will come down and settle to a ‘new’ level. Once there consistently, identify an area of your game to work on that will further improve your scores (100 yards and in for example), revisit this approach and start again. Take it in incremental stages and most golfers can play happily in the mid 80’s on most club courses. Nice stuff David, sound advice.

  “If you can putt half of your shots from 5ft, you are a single figure golfer”. That’s emblazoned on my forehead!! <br>Shot number 2 is where I leak shots David. I keep working on that half shot and getting it two steps onto the green. However I often still find myself far too short for an up and down! 😢
