  When I was a teenager, a girl was found in the woods, tied to a tree, dead.  The guy who did it had done it once before but because the first girl lived he had a short prison term, thus allowing him to actually kill someone the next time.  Life in prison for psychos!

  Imagine being a little girl at a sleepover with friends, unaware that you're about to be stabbed, getting stabbed 19 times and lied to about the pair getting help after they stabbed you, then living to see that the pair didn't go to prison for life without parole "for mental health purposes", then you hear the news that one of them escaped the group home they ended up in while you're severely, indescribably traumatized. Payton never really saw justice in this case.

  Her lawyer was on TV advising her to turn herself in. Her family supported her and her lawyer worked hard for years to get released. Maybe now everyone realizes that Morgan is better off in a mental health facility. She’s a danger to herself as well as others

  Here’s one thing I remember from raising my RAD, ODD, ADHD, FAS nephew from 11 months old. <br><br>No matter who had him on their books: A school, a probation officer, a therapeutic preschool, an alternative school, a residential facility, a therapist, a school guidance officer, a juvenile detention center etc they wanted for him to be somewhere else. I’m catching a bit of that vibe here.<br><br>I’ll edit this to say that I can’t really blame them. Man, he was a tough one. <br><br>Two things saved him. (He’s now 21.) He never was lazy. He always worked if he could get a job and he worked hard. He also had an unusual amount of empathy. He’d take a pizza to a poor person and bring home stray dogs at the drop of a hat. <br><br>He’s in Louisville KY these days working over 100 hours a week cleaning up from that terrible plane crash. This means, among other things, that he has a security clearance. I never woulda thunk it. <br><br>He has come a long way.

  Why the heck was she in a group home? These homes are typically in the middle of your neighborhood. They have a little supervision. And often the staff is lazy and doesn’t even do bed checks. I walked away from that job after six years because supervisionwas so lax.
