Is Mass Effect 3 as BAD as They Say?

A point about all the fake out character deaths in the game.

The reason there's so many is because mass effect 3 kills off side characters who survived the suicide mission without being loyal, and since alex and Jaime did all the loyal missions they then will survive their missions in mass effect 3, so grunt can die in that mission

Also you can see thane after he's stabbed but it's very missable

You can probably blame Casey Hudson and Mac Walters for ME3’s ending. Apparently the other writers were locked out of the room and had no opportunities to offer input on the conclusion, which is incredibly arrogant.

Fantastic! Surely the Andromeda playthrough is on its way, right?!

One thing about the Citadel that I like is that as the story progresses it changes as the conflict gets worse

Mass Effect 3 is when playing as Renegade Shepard became too much for me. I accidentally made Shep tell Legion to his face that all Geth deserved to die and that was when I understood how much of two-sided coin this whole series is. Renegade Shep is wildly inconsistent through all three games. I wanted to be a highly pragmatic boss bitch who didn't care about sacrificing a few lives for the greater good, but to be 100% Renegade I would've had to have made some truly evil, often psychotic dialog paths and actions that makes me highly question the game's internal logic, and how Shep still manages to be a hero at the end. Paragon Shepard is a truly sublime experience in my opinion that results in so much satisfaction until the end of Mass Effect 3. Renegade Shepard often made me wonder if it was worth playing this way. In the end, telling Legion he deserved to die was way too much for me to handle.

You can get both salarian and krogan support, but Wrex has to be dead or killed by Shepard in 3 and Mordin must be talked down or betrayed.

1:33:54 another attention to detail is that if you have garrus with you he will instead shoot kaidan/ashley. and he is the only squadmate to do that

I distinctively remember Mass Effect 3 being the exact moment the zeitgeist in gaming changed; it stopped being about creative stories and interesting lore. Once they took BioWare I knew it would be all about the numbers - how much we can streamline in order to optimise profits.

The closest we'll ever get to a 3 hour cast

One thing I ABSOLUTELY despise about this game is the amount of progression and time locked quests. They don't tell you which ones are which, and every single quest including the fetch quests tell you that they're urgent so that's not even a clue.

I enjoyed three for the most part. I agree with you all on the peaks of the story in this one. I liked the Citadel DLC because it actually gave me the character connection I wanted. But I'm glad you reminded me of all of the frustrating shit from the game. I think I look back on it more fondly because of the migraine that was Andromeda lol ( I expect a 3 hour dissection of that disaster no pressure). The most infuriating thing for me was Thane. Thane and Garrus were my go to in ME2 most of the time. He's such a strong warrior to see him beaten in like 8 seconds. For him to die defending the Daltrass from a useless character like Kai Lang was depressing. I really wanted Leviathan to be bigger. I would have loved it. It was so eerie and that moon base was so weird and great. The water battle was fun. But freaking hate that they don't pay off in the final war.

Loved the vid like always.
