Harvard was founded in 1636 by people (Puritans) that came from England so it's naturally it would resemble England.

It’s more touristy than Chicago because Boston was extremely important in American history. It’s where the American Revolution began. It’s where the fight for independence from Great Britain was triggered. The colonists threw the British tea into the harbor in protest against being taxed by the British government. No taxation without representation.

In America and in Boston, most of the green spaces have existed from the beginning--- it wasn't just 20 years ago that the U.S. decided to to all of sudden decide to add parks and green spaces. Keep in mind the US has the first National Park in the world. Yellowstone which became a National Park in 1872. Central Park in New York City was created in 1858. We have always valued our wilderness and green spaces in America and we have always had the space to create protected parks. I first visited Boston in the 1980's and the Big Dig project (the tunnel to move that one road) was being planned but all the other green spaces did already exist. The construction began in the 1990's.

The Boston Tea Party was a political protest on December 16, 1773, where American colonists, organized by the Sons of Liberty and disguised as Native Americans, dumped 342 chests of British tea into Boston Harbor. They protested the Tea Act and "taxation without representation

From someone living thousands of miles away in Perth Western Australia, Boston is nothing like I imagined, It looks stunning, full of history, clean and beautiful. It would look so pretty at xmas with all the historic buildings & those apartments look like something out of a story book, so quaint, love it.

Reading through the other comments has been fascinating- I really enjoyed this video, like I do most of your other videos- you are an enjoyable couple to watch in your travels 🙂! But I will admit, as a life-long Bostonian who loves this city with a passion (and wouldn't live anywhere else), I was disappointed by Dylan's ending reaction- of course everyone is entitled to their opinion. But as others have mentioned in the comments, the "Vibe" comments surprise me- try someday coming back in the Fall when our hundreds of thousands of students are NOT absent, nor are so many locals frankly on vacation. I think a lot of our "vibe" is not downtown in the tourist spots, but in our real neighborhoods that surround the city center. I realize you only had a short time in our city (and thank you for coming), but there is a LOT more to our city you didn't experience- whether it be Fenway Park, a visit to the Harbor Islands National park, Castle Island (a non-touristy spot us locals love), or college area when the students are actually there 😉.

Again thank you for your videos- I really enjoy your channel- I just have to admit I was disappointed in this reaction......

Regarding the Red Line at 40:30, the 10 day shutdown was for maintenance, not a strike. The subway is quite old, and was not well maintained, but now the MBTA is doing a big push with multi-day shutdowns for heavy maintenance rather than the usual overnight work.

Berklee College of Music, an internationally renowned school and alma mater of many world-famous musicians. And very close to the hotel you stayed in.

You did go to all of the most touristy areas! One day in any city isn't going to show you its full "vibe." Wish you had done some of the historical things and gone to some of the museums, inside the Copley Library, the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum, and visited a few coastal towns (Rockport, Gloucester, Newburyport, Salem), Audubon trails, hiking trails, and National Parks. Massachusetts is gorgeous from sea to forest to mountains. ❤
