  I’m doing whole lawn over seed &nbsp;but after recent heavy rain yard is real lush. &nbsp;Golf course guy is guiding me but I think your book might be the trick.

  Im basically seeding this fall because summer heat just killed my tall fescue and i dont have an irrigation system. Didnt want to waste water so i let it die. So im star from scratch. This is my 3rd time seeding but failed last year<br>Had a baby timing was crazy I had no time.. So this year is the year to grow a lawn!<br><br>Im planning to:<br><br>Dethatch, Aerate, level lawn with top soil, seed, fertilize, roll it with a lawn roller for leveling and seed to soil contact.. throw a thin layer of peat moss then water 3-4 times a day.<br><br>Im going to use Jonathan Green Fall Magic grass seed.<br><br>Any advice?!

  If I plan to level my lawn in the Spring, should I wait until then to overseed? I&apos;m in a cool season region. Thanks.

  You didn’t address the birds that cover the whole lawn tearing up everything to get at the seeds

  Reading enough seed bag info from big box stores should educate the consumer to not buy seed there. Almost all bags are 50 percent coated seeds and few have 0 percent weed. You&apos;re paying for lower quality cultivars and half the weight in seed. Find a local co-op or reputable online seed distributor. Regarding lowering the mow, scalping is actually preferred over slowly lowering the height. Besides saving time over multiple lowering mows, the grass will be shocked. This is a good thing because it &nbsp;grows back more slowly which becomes a mechanical PGR. That will allow the seed to germinate and establish nicely with the slowly recovering mature grass.

  So my issue is that I have a full-time job and I won’t be able to water three times a day twice possibly but not three times should I put some kind of tarp over the spot treating project like they do in vegetable gardens in 90 and 100° weather.

  I live in Southern NH. I plan on doing an over seeding. &nbsp;I bought some really good tall fescue. It’s &nbsp;5 different types. &nbsp;I have shady and sunny areas. <br>My plan was to scarify, aerate, lime, and then seed. My plan was to pre germinate the seed for 2-3 days before I get three to four or more days of rain. &nbsp;I was also going to drag in the seed. Then fertilize 10 or so days later. Any suggestions?

  topsoil or compost before seeding and what is better compost or top soil &nbsp;is better to purchase...thinking I bought weeds rathe than top soil this spring

  I&apos;m not leaving cores on my yard because it looks hideous. Drives me nuts. 😂😂
