I like your mindset about gaming the system and proving you don’t need them to make more money. I would offer a few points (playing devil’s advocate): current employer social media policies are really for their own legal liability since you work for them too, which I think makes sense; hopefully the laws adapt soon. I’ve also been told they want to know you’re focusing all your time and attention to the full-time salary job they’re paying you for (even if it’s not enough money, or you have spare time); and the public shouldn’t perceive that you’re distracted if they see you focusing on social media when you’re also employed by them. I’m an engineer but I would personally not choose a provider who also had a strong social media presence, as I’d assume it’s drawing focus from their face-to-face job with patients (me) - even if that’s untrue. Just a perception. If remote/social work is your primary job though, great - hopefully the hospital industry catches on and adapts their hours/salaries, otherwise we won’t have any practicing doctors 😂

I think doctors making content is already widely accepted as long as the content is professional. 98% of the feedback I get is positive.
