I don't understand why June didn't immediately run back to Bryce when she heard the cry for help, that seems super shady. I also don't understand why the Sheriff never interrogated the boy Marcus...possibly the last person to see him alive. No one followed up with the strange lady in the tent either. This is a terrible level of incompetence by all the law enforcement involved.

First impressions: I’ve lived near the beach my entire life. Taking eight kids to the beach by yourself is almost unthinkable

I find this one of the creepiest stories you have covered. It just feels so wrong from beginning to end. One adult taking out a mob of children, in a car she can't even safely carry them all, going to a remote location for a long hike, carrying a baby?! Leaving a six year old in the care of two other kids? Asking a stranger to take the kids back into town? There's just so much here and it's all wrong.

We need to know what Marcus remembers and why he cried so much.

I'm very sorry for Bryce's parents. What a distressing story.

Maybe June caught Marcus doing something to Bryce, and to protect her own child, left, Bryce behind so he could not tell... hence the running from him.... just a thought. And that's why Marcus was crying cause he knew it was wrong.

1 adult and 8 kids on a rough terrain that requires miles of hiking near cliffs overlooking deep water...what could go wrong?! June sounds very irresponsible.

The aunt is unbelievably suspicious. She insists on taking all the kids to the beach on her own and against their parents wishes. Then she lies about where they were going. The kids hear her nephew screaming for help, but not only does she not respond, she rushes them away faster. Her own son seems extremely traumatized implying he knows something.

Her son's charges also are a huge red flag, and not necessarily against him. A child or young teen committing those acts is a frequent sign that they underwent that same abuse.

This feels like the aunt arranged to have her nephew trafficked. Odds are her son was a victim too.

I'm also very suspicious of the police here. This feels like a cover up. That deputy shutting everything down every time the aunt's name came up is bad. Either she lied to him to get him to cover for her or he's in on it. The official record missing blatantly contradictory and highly credible information is absolutely unforgiveable and is definitely fishy given everything else.

Foul play is most likely. This feels planned.

I hiked this route in May 1987 and cut down to the beach too early and got caught behind a headland (rock outcropping). Was trapped and nearly fell into the ocean while scrambling my way out. The place just feels very rough and can be dangerous. I learned my lesson for sure.

I have SAR bloodhounds, one was a cadaver dog. They NEVER defecated during scent work. Ever. And never when they found remains. Depending upon training they may whine, lay and circle but not defecate.
