I am Praguer, and also run a guidebook on Prague. I have to say, this is probably the first youtube vid. on Prague from a foreigner I see that feels really well-researched and doesn't only cover the usual cliché (Astronomical clock, Charles Bridge etc.) You can tell that you spend an actual time in the city. Well done! x

I'm usually skeptical about tourists/foreigners making guides about Prague since it's often just copied content full of shortcuts, misleading tips and mistakes in culture or history. But this is probably the best sum of tips and recommendations from a foreigner about Prague I've seen so far.

I agree with basically everything you said. The issue is,however, that you spent there a month and had time to discover more than just the castle and old town. Average tourist has 3-4 days and for first timers the must-see place are obvious... 🤷♂️😅

As a native I 100% agree with everything you´ve said and I can definitely recommend your guide to everybody who plans to visit the city. I really apreciate how nicely you talk about Prague, it really warms my heart.

The book tower line is absurd... when I was young, this place had no tourists at all to see it. There was 0 people waiting for it ever... Nowadays tourists stand in a 1hr line? Preposterous.

Technical note at 16:13 - František Bílek was a sculptor and graphic artist, so he designed the vast majority of the villa's architectural elements himself when he had it built - for example, the supporting columns on the facade are symbolic bundles of ears of corn, because they were meant to express life as a fruitful field composed of ears of corn that come together (some are unfinished because they yield nothing), and the sculptures and graphic art inside are not the "owner's collection" but the owner created and drew them himself, thus in fact his villa is museum of his own art. Some of his early works can also be seen in National Gallery in Holešovice (with some early works of Pablo Picasso).

Good video. BUT do not downplay the clock. I DO agree that one must watch it and not focus on the camera. I would recommend READING about the clock and its workings BEFORE the trip to see it. The coffee recommendations are good... but there are SO MANY coffee shops with good pastries... if a person is only there a few days ANY of them are good. Night at the castle is wonderful BUT... one does not get to see inside the buildings.... I would do the day and allow 1/2 day for the castle portion. The castle ALSO has a fantastic quiet garden area. View from the castle is one of the best in Prague. Vyserad is an easy walk from the main square. Good views and worth the trip. I like the video overall. New subscriber and looking forward to your presentations. One of the better You Tube presenters for sure! Good job.
