  A large part of the reason was the jump in prices of livestock feed(i.e. maize) because supply was diverted for ethanol production.

  The question of whether a country&apos;s diet is doing well can be seen in health statistics. Genetics aside, statistics for average height, malnutrition, &nbsp;obesity, metabolic diseases like diabetes and cardiac problems revel the true side. Protein has to become the substantial part of diet. In many countries this is easy but in India this is culturally complicated and imposed because of unscientific, perceived and imposed hierarchies in protein sources.

  When you are eating chicken and fish, at least you know it is genuine. With paneer even after paying the high price there is still doubt in your mind if it is the real thing.

  I know this episode is about statics. But there grave mistake in understading protein here per 100g. The absorption rate and Amino acid profile is missing. Whey concentrate is essentially expensive because it&apos;s absorption is way faster than any other protein source and it contains all 9 amino acids which helps in absorption. Similarly , Paneer also has complete Amino acid profile for absortion though slower absorption than Whey. <br><br>Apart from one protein source they are not tracking is Soyabean drieved products such as Tofu has complete amino acid profies is cheap and protein rich. Rest of the items our indian system is tracking is useless for protein because we need to check how much is absorbed by body scietifically. And to absorb it you usually need to combination of food together to get all amino acid profiles. <br><br>The study is purely statistical and lack scientific awarness.<br><br>To be honest. I will never go to the non-vegetarian option. These doctors suggesting it to eat non-veg is very bad. They are taking advantage of system and patients weak point to make eat what usually they will not. Making the efforts of so many of centuries of teaching and efforts of religious leaders into dustbin.

  A larger fact is missing the &nbsp;price of growing protein in an animal is quite high than a plant source due to cattle feed and chicken feed, <br>hence it&apos;s time protein consumption should focus on Soya tofu instead of milk
