  I feel like Rexy isn&apos;t given enough credit for her intelligence. After all, <i>she tested the fence</i> before trying to break through. This tells us that 1) she&apos;d definitely bumped into the fences before and 2) she noticed something was different with the power down.<br><br>I already mentioned in another comment but she probably spent the night busting through fences and even if some of the holes she made are narrow, the current isn&apos;t lethal. It just hurts.

  Even if the system was rebooted, the damaged fences would short cut until either the generator malfunction or the fences never gets full power and therefore Rexy walks wherever she wants when she wants

  Love all of these deep dives into how the dinosaurs of the parks survived after the downfalls like the mosasaur and Trex and even the parks themselves! Keep up the great work man 👍

  Couple of points:<br><br>When the power came back on, Lex still had to manually reboot the door locks. The film doesn&apos;t specify that she also turned the fences back on (&quot;Phones, Security Systems, you name it we got it&quot;, all at the push of a single button? Seems unlikely. Not knowing the intricacies of the system as well as Nedry or Arnold, she couldn&apos;t know exactly what had and hadn&apos;t been reinitialised. And then they were forced out of the control room fairly quickly after that, for her to be able to double back, check, and initialise other systems), so there&apos;s a good chance the fences were not rebooted. Especially with gaps in the circuit from escapes and tree/storm damage, the system was likely to short out and not reboot properly. It wasn&apos;t exactly a well built system in the first place.<br><br>Rex hunted a Gallimimus, and would likely continue to do so, numbers had dropped from 24 to 9 in a year. That said, the Dilophosaurs would also need to hunt and eat (as may any surviving baby Raptors), so they may have claimed a couple of those. The Paras had also dropped from 15 to 9, though a Para kill goes a lot further than a gallimiumus. It&apos;s worth remembering that the island also had a stock of cows and goats living on the island as feed, so once the power went down, they will likely have escaped and started breeding across the island as well, forming part of the food Web. No shortage of grazing for them to eat.<br><br>The Lysine Contingency was farcical. It was based an a genetically engineered &quot;faulty enzyme&quot; that prevents production of Lysine, when living animals cannot produce their own Lysine anyway. All animals have to consume Lysine to survive, Lysine Deficient is the norm. So Herbivores need to eat high Lysine foods to have any in their systems at all, and Carnivores in turn need to eat those animals for their Lysine. It was never going to be a real solution to population control and containment. The Lysine Contingency was most likely just junk science that Wu offered to Hammond as a solution, knowing full well it wouldn&apos;t work, to gain more freedom to do the science he wanted to do, the stuff that would bring him fame and renown.<br><br>Rexy really did have a good shake in at least surviving after the fall of the Park, organically, without assistance. She had subsisted on goats whilst in captivity, so there&apos;s no reason to think she suddenly couldn&apos;t out of containment, even if she and any remaining carnivores had hunted the non-breeding herbivorous dinosaurs back to extinction on Nublar. And once the early groundwork on JW started in 2002, Hoskins and his team found her malnourished due to a tooth injury, rather than lacking in food.

  Even though the power was restored and the fences were also restored, this doesn&apos;t mean they were all actually reactivated. This is because when Dennis Nedry turned off the systems, the other carnivorous dinosaur species took advantage of the opportunity and broke through the electric fences to escape. When the power was restored, the fences probably weren&apos;t working if they already had gaps, because when a fence has a hole or gap in one section, the rest of the fence stops conducting electricity. This is how residential and rural electric fences work. It wasn&apos;t shown whether the fences were actually active on the computer screens when Lexy and Tim reactivated the security systems. It wasn&apos;t shown if there were gaps in the fences preventing them from receiving electricity.
