  I like how Christopher Darden outright caught Ms. Lopez lying a couple of times and the media and court completely glossed over it!

  One aspect of the OJ Simpson case that&apos;s fascinating is how whenever a motion went the prosecution&apos;s way, it still worked in the defense&apos;s favor. <br><br>The Lopez testimony is just one example of this. The prosecution wanted Lopez&apos;s testimony to be treated as a conditional statement, pursuant to Penal Code section 1335. (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxGKTGVJSGA&amp;t=1037">17:17</a>) Judge Ito granted the request. Because of this grant, the defense got the opportunity to see how Lopez&apos;s testimony will play out before presenting it to the jury. Realizing that it would be damaging to Simpson&apos;s defense, they chose not to present Lopez as a witness.<br><br>If the prosecution hadn&apos;t made the motion that it did, the defense wouldn&apos;t have been able to prevent Lopez&apos;s damaging testimony from being heard by the jury.<br><br>The most significant instance of this backfiring phenomenon was with the bloody glove found on Simpson&apos;s property. The defense thought from the beginning that the glove was planted by Mark Fuhrman. They tried to have it thrown out of evidence as the product of an unlawful search. The prosecution opposed this motion. Ultimately, the prosecution got its way and glove stayed in evidence.<br><br>If the prosecution hadn&apos;t opposed the motion and the glove was thrown out, there would have been no occasion to question Mark Fuhrman. As a result, the race issues, which became the focus of the case after the tapes of Mark Fuhrman came to light, wouldn&apos;t have been aired at all. Also, there wouldn&apos;t have been that infamous moment when OJ tried on the glove and pretended it didn&apos;t fit. Johnnie Cochran wouldn&apos;t have had the opportunity to say, &quot;if the glove doesn&apos;t fit, you must acquit.&quot;<br><br>The prosecution won so many battles in this case. Because they did, they lost the war...

  This entire trial was a circus but the defense played it brilliantly. Johnny mopped the floor with the prosecution team.

  Lopez was a highly irritating, dissembling and distracting witness, just taking the piss. Ito should have shut her down quickly &amp; sanctioned the defense immediately. Ito was just so limp…
