Very fascinating! Especially after recent archaeological discoveries of large urban structures right where Purepecha once stood. So the Indians had reached the Bronze Age just before the Spanish discovered America? Then that means the Indians would have reached the Iron Age because through metalworking they would sooner or later have discovered the ability to make iron. We need books about the historical course of the Indian civilizations now that it is possible to read preserved writings and reuse written accounts by the Spanish and their allies that documented everyone they had seen and remembered.<br><br>In any case, the Aztecs were so definitely way over the top by all standards in their bloodthirstiness and cruelty - no wonder almost everyone was very quick to turn away. Possibly the Purepecha would sooner or later have put an end to the Aztec Empire, but they were more interesting in stability than constant oppression. If they had decided to do so, the Aztecs would have found themselves isolated - exactly what had happened when the Spanish came.
