Rusty, her ex-husband should have been charged. He knew her having more babies was dangerous for her. He was told by doctors that she was not to be alone with the children.

Her attorney seems like such a kind soul. She was lucky to have him represent her. Postpartum psychosis is a scary thing.

Her Lawyer is such a beautiful and caring man. He has never abandoned her. Bless his sweet heart and his wifes. ❤

It wasn’t just post partum she also had psychosis, it was a recipe for disaster

Rusty is very much a fault here too. Doctors told him that it’s not a good idea to get her pregnant again and yet he did any way.

My sister had my niece in 2002.  She had postpartum depression really bad.  I told her that she needed help and don't be an " Andrea Yates"  She went and got help.  So as sad as all this is, her story helped others. When she had my nephew, she immediately got on meds. It was much better this time around. Her dr didn't even wait.

I blame her husband, Rusty, for a lot of this tragedy. Andrea kept having babies and growing mentally sicker and sicker with each new baby. Rusty even had Andrea and his children living in a RV trailer at one time. He’s a very intelligent man and didn’t stop the baby-making nor adequately protect his children. He knew how sick his wife was and yet, left his children ALONE (even if it was for 30 minutes)with a profoundly psychotic mother. All of her mental illness stemmed from pregnancy and yet they chose to have 5 children in quick succession. You can see, in pictures, just how much she mentally detached with each child. He should have been held accountable for his part in not keeping his children safe. Andrea Yates was mentally incapacitated but Rusty WAS NOT!!!

This case is so sad. I remember when it happened. It did allow for postpartum to be brought to the forefront. In a way this case probably saved many lives.
