He was the perpetrator of a horrific murder that occurred in just eight months: a high school girl he never knew, her mother, her 13-year-old sister, and two accomplices from his time in juvenile detention—a total of five people. In his junior high school graduation yearbook, the boy wrote in hiragana, "Please don't forget me." Discrimination at home, brutal bullying at school, rejection from his family after his release from juvenile detention— The loneliness and distorted pride of a man who had lost his place in the world transformed into an utterly selfish murderous intent: "I'll kill traitors," "I'll kill everyone who made a fool of me." The bizarre V-sign he displayed in court, the chaos caused by the sudden submission of a "Withdrawal of Appeal"— And the "major decision" that the execution in December 2007 brought to Japan's judicial administration— This video delves into the life story of a man who, in his desperate search for a place to belong, took five precious lives, and the records that remain in the history of Japanese jurisprudence during the Showa and Heisei eras.
