Howard Carter — Szukał grobu, w który nikt nie wierzył. 20 lat

Howard Carter—a biography of a man who spent twenty years searching for a tomb no one believed in anymore. A documentary about the discoverer of Tutankhamun's tomb. How did a self-taught, ungraduated scientist prove all science wrong? Howard Carter was a British archaeologist and illustrator who made the most famous discovery in the history of Egyptology—in 1922, he discovered the intact tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings. He had no university education, no fortune, and no easy personality, yet he etched his name in history alongside the greatest scholars of ancient Egypt. All of science declared the Valley of the Kings exhausted and held no more secrets. Howard Carter was the only one to recognize this verdict as a mistake. He had staked his life, his reputation, and his meager savings on the stakes, digging where everyone else saw only a pile of rubble. Six fruitless seasons brought him to the brink of defeat—until one final day that changed everything. In this documentary, you'll follow his journey from his impoverished childhood as a painter's son, through his years as a draughtsman in stuffy tombs, his loss as inspector, and his encounter with Lord Carnarvon. You'll discover the moment of discovery of the sealed door, the famous words spoken by candlelight, the chamber filled with gold, the golden mask of the pharaoh, and the truth about the alleged curse that haunted the expedition. This is a story about persistence, which is simply another name for faith when no one else believes anymore. A story about how the greatest discoveries are born not in a moment of revelation, but in long hours of doubt. Watch until the end to find out what truly was the most valuable find in this tomb.
