  Gotta give credit to Charlie's friend for calling for help.  When drugs are involved, a lot of people are afraid to call emergency services and many have died from it

  Dawn was my school friend .  It broke my heart how she was portrayed. In the media at the time . Thank you for covering her story so well.  I have been a long time follower of yours and often wondered if you would cover her case . Dawn was such a bright friendly star and we spent a lot of time in our teenage years.  I have fond fun memories of our youth together.

  Thank you for treating people with dignity. I’m retired police/K9. They’re not bad people, they’re sick. <br><br>I did everything I could to help them. Some were evil acting at the moment, but some were just scared. I never met one I thought was evil to the core, just evil when consumed. <br><br>After I had a stroke and other issues, I wound up on hydrocodone, taking three people’s prescriptions because I was so sick without it. I kicked it on my own because I couldn’t have peace knowing it owned me, and it was so hard to do, but I did it. <br><br>I was never a bad person either. I was sick too. I’m glad I always treated people as well as they’d let me. I did help some, and they still let me know when they see me.

  What really stood out to me is how you humanized and always sounded respectful to the people in this story. &nbsp;The &quot;type&quot; of people in your story are so typically dehumanized and looked down upon. It was really refreshing.

  I found it so heartening to hear you humanise this couple and to be compassionate towards people who not only experienced a tragic event, but also had complicated backgrounds. It increased my respect of you many fold. Thank you Mr Ballen.

  My sister was a long time addict. She was an incredibly kind but extremely sick person. After getting clean, she became sick with stomach cancer. Ultimately, she died peacefully in her sleep, in a warm and comfortable bed. For that, i will be grateful. <br>Thank you for speaking about these people and their story with dignity and respect 🙏

  I’m a poison control center nurse. We heard about this case first hand from one of the ER doctors in that city at one of our toxicology conferences. The symptoms are classic for the “cholinergic” toxidrome—usually some type of organophosphate poisoning although in this case of course it was Novichok-a weaponized toxin. I always felt so sad for this lady who was just an unintended consequence of something truly evil. You tell the story really well!
