I used to work on cruise ships and it seems very similar about everything you said. Unfortunately it’s very toxic. I thought the yatch industry could be different. You are totally right about build your own business. If we are smart, that’s the best decision to make, with strategy and good plans. I can’t stay for so long on board too. One of the best things you made it happen! To make money around the world and move to a cheap country with nice quality of life. That’s the same for me. I used to work on cruise ships and living in Brazil.

Interesting video. I watch a lot of yachting videos (probably why I got yours) and most of the big ones do NOT talk about any of the downside. They make it look like a bunch of awesome people having a great time. It reminds me a lot of the restaurant industry. Lots of partying drugs and abuse. Glad you got out.

We are so puzzled by this. Google says 40% of female crew members have been assaulted on yachts by crew, owners or guests. This is wild!

I'm thinking to go on a yacht next year doing the courses in July. I have 12 years in hospitality as a chef hope to do 1 2 year save some money to do something on my own. The reason I'm going in is just the cost of living on land right now. About the stories a lot of faked up people everywhere like in restaurant.if I know that some of my colleagues got sexually harassed and they ask me to keep it down I will spread the world får and wide for sure

Interesting opition. I'd say it is partly lottery -:other part Ur personality exactly, how well U can manage any situation professionally and least traumatic in case of toxic. Been to quite different crew entertainment, boat. One thing for sure - it will teach U...hard or "well done" lesson. Have my stories also)

Thanks for being truthful. I work in resort entertainment. Is much more free, because you live on land, have free days, access to clients restaurant. But it can leave you with PTSD as well due to constant performing 🎭 stress, pushy/aggressive uneducated managers, and if you work in the Maldives: you go through constant sexual harassment from your co-workers. Avoid. I was thinking to switch for boats- but after hearing you, i will continue with hotels, then switch to content creation. I have maaaaany things to share as well. I am really sorry to hear about you getting sexually assaulted. Please also never work or holiday in the Maldives: women are going through it daily on those islands.
