Jeff’s biological dad: Jeff’s mom Jackie divorced his biological father, Ted Jorgensen, when they were very young. He didn’t stay involved afterward, and Jeff was later adopted by Mike Bezos. Not a dramatic disappearance, just a young marriage that ended.<br><br>2. Amazon’s initial funding: I mentioned Jeff started Amazon with $10k from his parents, but the accurate amount was $245,573 from their retirement savings.<br><br>Really appreciate all of you for watching and helping keep things accurate! 🙏

  The funniest part of it all is that bezos himself said “businesses are not long for this world, one day Amazon won’t be around” and then proceeded to make one of the most dominant companies in the history of humanity

  Your margin is my opportunity&apos; is probably the most terrifying quote in modern business. It perfectly sums up why Amazon won: they weren&apos;t trying to make a profit on the sale, they were willing to bleed money just to starve the competition. Brutal, but undeniably effective execution.

  I was impressed by the part where Bezos envisioned Amazon as the world&apos;s largest online store, even though it only sold books. The transition to logistics, Prime, AWS – all stemmed from customer needs. The video is no hype, just factual historical facts. Highly recommended for entrepreneurs!😊

  Amazon merely replicated the Sears catalogue business model that started in the late 1890s.<br><br>Pictures from the old Sears warehouses show conveyors running through the Sears warehouses with those old wire baskets collecting individual items similar to how Amazon’s yellow totes do today.<br><br>The only real difference is the technology being used today coupled with the fact that Amazon gets its orders from the internet while Sears got its orders from its mail order catalogues. <br><br>Both companies figured out how to get bulk orders from vendors and then break them down into individual items for delivery direct to customers’ homes. <br><br>That’s truly all that Amazon had done, replicated the original Sears business model.

  The fact that many people have to shop here with out a choice. Because other places are to expensive for the same stuff really pisses me off. We are literally enabling bad.
