What do you think talent actually is? Is it a gift, or is it doing?

I started drawing in High School. The assignment was simple. 1 sketch a day, 6 day a week. How good it comes out isn&apos;t important. find something interesting and draw it. Spend no more than 45 minutes. Don&apos;t draw what you think is there, draw what you see. By the end of the school year I was pretty good. <br>I enjoyed your video. Thank you

I have so much depression right now. I am trying to draw and paint a bit every day after watching some of your courses. Thank you for posting this. I had heart surgery two weeks ago and I feel like crap.

This is only the second time I&apos;ve commented on your videos but, I confess, there is something very SPECIAL about them. My artwork has been purchased and published in various places over the years, so I am not a novice artist. I don&apos;t watch your videos to learn how to draw. I already know how to do that. I watch your videos because you, sir, are a highly inspirational gentleman! It is a true pleasure to listen to you. I find that your lessons on drawing are also lessons about LIFE! Your voice is warm and soothing... the only other person I know whose voice and manner had the power to simultaneously calm and inspire is the legendary Bob Ross. Keep up the good work, brother!

Bro I thought volume one was going to look rough. Dude must have knew how to draw somewhat before hand. Either that or he does have a certain talent. I know my volume 1,2, and 3 don&apos;t look half as good as his 1

“didn’t start until 40”, “not until talent”… opens first sketchbook and shows something better than most graduating art school students

I agree with the overall sentiment, but the first page of your first sketchbook shows far more competence than what some people manage after months, sometimes years of trying to learn.

But here&apos;s the thing. Even in your first sketchbook your drawings are already skillful. My drawings are still on the most basic shapes level.

I started making art in my 50s after wanting to be an artist all my life. When I was a teen, I became convinced that I had no “talent” so instead of continuing to draw, I started dating artists. Oh, how I wish I had more persistence in those days. But alas, I had to wait until midlife to figure that out. Now I’ve been an artist for almost ten years and I’m still learning how to draw. I am still convinced that I don’t have talent but I do know how to work hard, stay with things, and not give up. Thanks, Danny, for another great video and a reminder to draw something today.
