His 2009 Australian Open level was superhuman, look at some of the stuff he was able to do there with his footspeed. Such a powerful backhand and forehand at that time

I could watch these highlights for hours and hours. There is no player on the current roster that even excites me a little bit like Rafa....

You could write a book on how cruel the Aus Open was to Nadal over the years, with injuries and some very tough losses. The Miracle in Melbourne was so well deserved.

AO is the place where Rafa really loved to play and where he should have won more titles. Unfortunately, it was also the place in which he had the most injuries, forcing him to either retire or lose matches he normally would not lose. No one thinks Rafa would have lost the 2014 Final for example. I was really happy for him in 2022 when he managed to get his hands on a second AO, one that he was really chasing for such a long time.

That match with Verdasco is my favourite all-time sports viewing experience. I watched it on live tv till the early hours of the morning in NZ, and it was a thrilling spectacle of balls-to-the-wall shotmaking and in the end the mental and physical endurance of Rafa was the deciding factor - I had been rooting for Verdasco because he was putting it all out there and playing his heart out, but at the same time that was the match that made Rafa my favourite of his era.

A real Rafa fan would know to match the outfit of him to the year he played

2009 Rafa was frightening, how he beat Federer that year was unbelievable. Superhuman.

Rafa winning his 2nd Australian Open Singles title in 2022 will be the most special memory for me and its my favourite of his Grand Slam Singles titles he was chasing a 2nd Australian Open title for a long time and he finally got it as well as winning the Career Grand Slam in Singles twice.
