According to John from Old Hickory Forge, length of the sword determined by user height, for his extra tall 6'4" or so frame, his is supposed to be about 30" blade.

Dont think I've ever seen a canister come off so cleanly, lol. The end result is absolutely stunning!!

Every time I see a modern blacksmith forging any kind of blade, I also think about how sword makers had to spend literal hours using a hammer and anvil to do this, taking so much time and patience. I have mad respect for those who take part in this process.

the fact that you didnt have to grind that canister off is pretty insane.

Awesome work man! Make sure you show off the work at the end of the video a little longer with some nice pictures. Right now the final result was just flashed by. Your work is worth showing off.

That verdigris finish on the copper bits is stunning! Gives the sword a "God of the Seas" feel to it. Amazing job dude! The whole build is beautiful!!!

I'm a bowyer/general woodworker and have never ventured into forging. However, I appreciate the craftsmanship of blade smiths very much

1. Thank God you forged the tip so many smiths just cut the tip and leave the only time traditionally the tip was hot cut then hammers the opposite side 2. That canister removal was magnificent
