  I play stabat mater whenever we have a passing away at the home for elderly senior citizens where I work. Tonight I'm listening to this masterpiece to remember Sister Monique who spent most of her adult life working in the Sahel region of Africa caring for women and children at various hospitals and dispensaries in remote areas. She was born in the mid 1930s! Despite being a Reverend Sister, she adopted a little child who was orphaned very young and continued to send money to their extended family to fund their studies. A saintly, discrete woman with many talents. Here, she taught knitting,  crochet and macramé to the other senior residents until last week.  I miss her so much, her congregation is devastated 💔

  Pergolesi est mort a 26 ans. Il a laissé derrière lui le plus parfait des stabat Mater jamais écrit, servi ici avec humilité et talent. 26 ans... ça laisse rêveur quand a la culture de 'l'excellence qui a un jour régné sur ce monde.

  I've heard great versions of this work but this... I absolutely LOVE this version. The countertenor is insane; it's like the piece was actually written for countertenor and not alto. I'm just now learning of who Nathalie Stutzmann is but I need to learn more. She really did a great job here. This interpretation is superb. She gets all the moods right: the sorrow, the angst, the jubilation, etc. She manages to preserve the Baroque sound and making it Romantic at the same time. Superb, just simply superb.

  This performance should be included in the cultural heritage of humanity. Incredible harmony of Maestro Stutzmann, who takes into account even the acoustics of the cathedral, diamond vocals, great sound acquisition quality, &nbsp;great camera and instrumental performance.<br>Bravo!

  Люди з усього світу слухають цей чудовий твір вічно молодого Перголезі у виконанні Пилипа Яруского та Емьоке Барат. Їхні голоси дуже добре підходять один до одного. А оркестром керує незрівнянна Наталі Штуцман - оперна співачка, дирежер, провідна фігура високої французької штуки та культури. <br>Підчас ціх чорних воєнних днів це звучить як обіцянка кращого життя. Дякую їм за це незгасаюче світло!

  Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, un genio assoluto della musica di tutti i tempi. &nbsp;Ha vissuto solo 26 anni. Una melodia che ha la straordinaria capacità di portarti fuori dal tempo e dallo spazio. Questa interpretazione è fantastica

  Dernière œuvre du compositeur, qui meurt des suites d&apos;une tuberculose à l&apos;âge de 26 ans, elle est écrite pour deux voix chantées (traditionnellement soprano et alto, sans doute des castrats) et un petit ensemble instrumental de composition classique (premiers et seconds violons, alto, basse, basse continue). C&apos;est aujourd&apos;hui la composition la plus populaire de Pergolèse.
