The 5 Heaviest Aircraft Ever Built — How Do They Even Take Off?

How can an aircraft weighing hundreds of tons actually get off the ground? The world's heaviest aircraft pushed aviation engineering to extraordinary limits. From the Antonov An-225 Mriya and An-124 Ruslan to the Airbus A380 and Stratolaunch, these machines required enormous wings, powerful engines, massive landing gear, giant factories, specialized transport routes, and airports capable of handling their size. But here's the surprising part: The sky isn't necessarily what limits the size of an aircraft. The ground does. In this video, we explore how aircraft weighing hundreds of tons generate enough lift to fly, how their landing gear distributes enormous weight, why giant factories and transportation networks were required, and what ultimately prevents engineers from simply building an 800-ton or 1,000-ton aircraft. From lift and aerodynamics to runways, taxiways, factories, and airport infrastructure, discover why the world's largest aircraft may have been limited less by the sky—and more by the concrete underneath them. So how large could an aircraft actually become before the world around it couldn't handle it? 📩 BUSINESS INQUIRIES [email protected] 🎵 MUSIC CREDITS Music: Last Frontier by ArcticFoxMusic Link to Video: Documentary Cinematic No Copyright Tension... ⚠️ DISCLAIMER This video is created by ForgeAtlas for educational and informational purposes.
