Brother, I didn't go to the VA til I was 69. I felt very much the same. I didn't "know" that I was a veteran & had to be told by my father-in-law that I was. Don't know why I thought that other than to me, a veteran is some guy who low-crawled in a battlefield, taking fire. It's taken me several years to figure out what I was. I have a very patient wife. My FIL gave me my 1st Nam hat. Now it's my turn to say "WELCOME HOME BROTHER" to those I meet. To you Carl, I would say "WELCOME HOME"

Darrell, I have listened to various interviewers speaking to vetrans and you are by far the best at helping them to tell their story. I believe that the act of telling their story actually assists them to overcome some of the trauma.

Doing this interview is one of the bravest things this man could ever have done. On top of that, he's a war of veteran. God bless you sir. Thank you for your service and welcome home.

That rule of having to pay back social security for time not paying while enlisted is terrible. They shouldn't have to pay anything. If anything they should get the social security the whole time they're on active duty for defending the country.

It strikes me how humble this man is, not a hint or arrogance or hubris.

These interviews are extremely valuable. I hope Carl Wolf is safe and well. I admire people who find ways to help others at every point in their life.
