While everything else is certainly debatable, Stokes at 3 is simply egregious.
The English and recency biases are regrettably understood, but personally, only Imran (or Kapil, at most) fully earned the honour of that spot behind Sir Garry and Kallis.

stokes is a legend but he is more of a moments player than an undeniable goat. there is absolutely no way he comes in the top 5. he should be in 8 or 9

English cricket seems to be still lingering on the memories of 2005 ashes! They have not won ashes in austrailia since very long tine

That point about "personal influence" is spot on and changes everything because that is how sports actually hit you when you are growing up. For me in India, Kapil Dev was an absolute monumental influence before Sachin even came onto the scene, and Imran was right there too as a massive presence. But guys like Botham and Hadlee? We just were not exposed to them or following their matches the same way back then, so they do not hold that same emotional weight or place in my memory. When you factor in who actually shaped your love for the game day to day, a purely stats-based ranking misses the whole point, and my list would naturally look completely different.

You can't have Imran as higher as this. He must be in top 3 or top4 at worst.

Coming from an Indian.

Relative to his remarkable achievements in tests, Jadeja is the most underrated player of his generation and Indian test history as he rarely gets mentioned at the top end in lists consisting of India's best players in the format.

Interesting that Australia has just one and that was 70 years ago. They seem to have done well enough in the interim though, which makes you wonder whether an all-rounder is really as essential as selectors everywhere seem to think.

In my era of cricket (sort of 2002 onwards), there have been so many unbelievable all rounders I couldn't pick a top however many. Just bloody grateful I've got to enjoy watching them all.
