  Based on the true story of Alexander Selkirk, a Scotsman who was intentionally marooned on an island off Chile when he protested that his ship was unsafe and unseaworthy. His captain, disgusted with him, marooned him there cruelly. The ship did indeed however sink at sea as Selkirk had warned. He likely saved his life, but was alone for four long years on the island from 1704 until 1709 when he was rescued when a British ship stopped there since one of its crew had been a survivor of the original ship, and remembered Selkirk had been marooned there.

  My mother took me to see this when I was 8 years old. It made a big impression on me. She was the best mother a little boy could have.

  I have seen a lot of Robinson &nbsp;Crusoe movies, but this is the best version.

  Wow, the haunting sound of his old friend Rex and leaving the home he knew for most of his life. &nbsp;Some solace that what he created may be treasured by those in dire need of such a lesson.

  I was one year old when this movie was made. I remember seeing it once before, probably when I was around 7 or 8. I like these old movies better than most of what&apos;s being made today.

  i saw this movie in a theater in the Bronx, NY, as a child. &nbsp; It had a heavy influence on my life; it was prophecy, in a way.[

  I saw this when I was 9-11. &nbsp; Those days only a real theater showed movies on a single big screen. &nbsp;Popcorn was 10 cents. &nbsp;That theater the Lee in Ephrata, WA is still open and the popcorn reflects the true rise of inflation.
