  As a spectrum owner back in the day this brought back a lot of pleasant memories. Thanks mate. And yes the voice overs made me laugh.

  There were big rumours that the magazines took bribes for favourable reviews at the time. This countdown seems to support that.

  This was really interesting. Takes me back to the days of Sinclair User - I remember reading some of those reviews at the time.<br>They feel a bit different in hindsight - a lot of games were highly regarded because they were technically impressive, but they don&apos;t hold up all that well today.<br>I hate to say it, but I think Uridium is an example of this.

  Tim Tregear was the writer of the original Driller game from Macmillan software. &nbsp;He was my teacher at Gossops Green Junior school and we had to test it, he also wrote survival and helped on Mercenary, &nbsp;please show Mercenary it was cool<br>Signed <br>Dave

  Had no idea the atmosphere was 90% helium in the 80&apos;s and 90&apos;s, and I was there. Maybe Aled Jones explains a lot.

  Three Weeks in Paradise was a bit of a cruel irony for poor old Mikrogen - one of the last titles they released, not a commercial success and they hit the skids and were taken over not long afterwards.. a classic case of a small company over reaching and running out of money.

No matter how good the game was, it always used to lower the tone and look a bit half-arsed when devs didn&apos;t bother to make a nice custom font and just used the Speccy&apos;s bog standard system font.

  Three Weeks in Paradise came out in 1986 too, so it&apos;s not getting any favorable reviews from coming out very early or very late, it must actually be that good.

  Awesome video. I remember when I was a kid that Dan Dare for my first attempt at programming. I wrote a program to let me examine the memory and then using the good old poke command edited the text messages in the game. Fun times. <br><br>Happy to see The Great Escape in the list too. I often got bored of isometric games but loved this one.
