  My wife and I decided to pay for someone&apos;s check after our breakfast. We were able to leave before they saw us and the waitress did not tell them about us. The next weekend at the same restaurant, our waitress told us that three other groups paid for someone else&apos;s bill. Do right because it is right. There was a homeless older gentleman &nbsp;and he never asked for money. Other people said the same thing. I would give five or ten dollars. He always looked you in the eyes and said thank you sir. One day I felt lead to give him a twenty and he had the same reaction. Three hours later my supervisor called me into his office and told me that I was getting a $750.00 award. No one saw me give the twenty

  This reminded me of something that happened to my dad. He once stopped to help an elderly man change a flat tire, and a few weeks later that same man recommended him for a great job. Since then, I&apos;ve believed that kindness has a way of coming back when you least expect it.

  The act of helping someone and not accepting payment is it&apos;s own reward. Pay for someone&apos;s meal or cut their grass and you will be rewarded even if that reward is that if you are in a similar situation someone may help you as the story said. What goes around comes around is not always negative. I believe that the Lord may add time that you could be spending &nbsp;time with your family and friends. Our time is something that a person can give back. My father would ask me if I wanted to steal his blessing when he would pay for our meal. Sometimes we need to be a joyful receiver and not always a joyful giver. I miss my dad

  Gavin turning down that big corporate offer just to stay in his small garage was the moment he won me over. Most people spend their whole lives chasing a title, but a real man knows that peace of mind is something money can&apos;t buy. When he said he’d rather fix the church roof than dream about big money, you could tell his character was built solid. Quiet men like Gavin who just show up, do the work, and ask for nothing in return are getting rarer every day.
