  I personally believe private school kids get better jobs because of their confidence. Hear me out, they have less students so their teachers can place more attention on them and be able to compliment their abilities more. From what I remember of public school, I’d rarely get congratulated for my abilities which in a non arrogant way weren’t exactly lacking. I’ve met people in my university who attended private schools and they are ridiculously confident, they aren’t afraid to speak out. Jobs aren’t only about intelligence, to get a job you need charisma.<br><br>Edit: after evaluating this a bit, I realised that although fewer students will be a cause of confidence, it’ll more so be the adequacy of the environment that private school children typically grow up with and the experience they get with hard working people.

  I think it would be better for the private school to visit an actually rough school. So they can really see how the system is failing children

  Its easy to be confident and to give it all to your studies while you dont need to worry about the food on the table, the rent your parents are tryint to pay or the fact that hobbies, dreams cost so much.

  it&apos;s not just the school, it&apos;s the kids home environment, their parents, their upbringing, the food they eat, the entertainment they consume, the activities they do, it&apos;s everything.

  Wow. I dunno how indicative this is of actual contrast in such UK schools, but here in the US you could see far greater contrast even between two public schools a few miles from one another.

  The thought that the self-confidence element being higher in the independent school students COULDN’T POSSIBLY have anything to do with money and a sense of security absolutely baffles me.

  I went to a horrible public school in a very poor area, had to move schools due to bullying. School was very difficult emotionally for me and when I went to university in Bath, a very wealthy area, most people I met were from private schools. Completely different people, much kinder, smarter and more inclusive. They even talked about how much they miss school and loved going, I could never relate, I hated school and I couldn’t wait to leave. I am so happy and proud of myself for ending up in the same place as much more privileged kids, but I cant help but feel so sad for my younger self and other children going to public schools and living in poverty.
