Every cemetery I have visited in Limburg has a few graves of Allied soldiers, and they are all immaculately tended and recognized with little annual commemorative ceremonies. It's very moving and humbling as an American to see how much these soldiers are appreciated and cared for to this day.

There actually is a waiting lists I believe for adopting a grave. It shows our little country at its best. Thank you for the respect for the soldiers.

I loved this so much! I'm English and I live in south Limburg, 10 minutes from Heerlen! I moved here when i was 17 with my British soldier father/family! They got posted back to England and at 18 i stayed here and made my life here! I've been to Margraten alot through the years...i also go to Valkenburg alot... i was there last month! I love hearing about the history of WW2... I have a few colleagues that have adopted some of the graves! Just recently we went to a German museum on the Dutch, German border to Kerkrade...it was very interesting!! I've subscribed to your channel as you seem like a genuinely lovely couple sharing your travels! I'm 64 now and will be retiring in 3 years so I'll get some good travel advice from your vlogs! Friendly greetings from sunny south Limburg 😀💛

I'm an American currently living in Kerkrade and I cannot say enough good things about this area. Limburg is a fantastic place to live. Best people in NL (IMO), great access to everywhere else, and so much to see and do without breaking the bank.

I’m 70 now, in my twenties I drove every year on D-Day to Margraten from Rotterdam to honor the Americans that gave their lives to liberate us. Later I went a several times to the American cemetery in Colleville sur Mer near Omaha beach. Americans have a lot to be proud of.
