  I enjoyed this debate. There is one question I wish had been asked, and I would like to hear it addressed in a future debate. For the gentleman with the Heritage Foundation:<br>“Can you give specific examples from American history in which significant progress toward racial equality occurred organically, without deliberate pressure for change through protest, organized activism, litigation, political action, economic pressure, or similar efforts?”<br>I ask because the person supporting the Heritage Foundation said that the pursuit of racial equality should be allowed to occur organically rather than through deliberate pressure for change (if I heard him correctly). If he believes that, two questions naturally follow: Where in American history has that approach actually produced significant racial progress? And while we wait for equality to develop organically, how long would you like people experiencing unequal treatment to be expected to endure that inequality?<br>The issue is not simply whether organic change is theoretically possible. It is whether history provides evidence that this approach works, how long that process takes, and what happens to the people who continue bearing the consequences of inequality while society waits for that change to occur.

  The KKK was white backlash to slavery being abolished. The Heritage Foundation was white Backlash to the Civil Rights Movement.

  The very people who opposed the Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act, Fair Housing Act, Affirmative Action, and DEI initiatives now want to gaslight us into believing that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are no longer necessary. 😤🖕🏽

  I am a African-American small business who trailblazed thru the affirmative action, federal set-a-sides and the evolution of DEI. I was the guinea pig or prototype that got DEI shutdown because of the actions of people who refused to accept a person of color in the judicial system. Our governor shut down the DEI program rather than correct racists within the judicial system, which I have written a book, &quot;Surviving Racism in the 21st Century Workplace&quot;. Let those that were victims of DEI experiment for over 40 years tell the story. Over 40 years every contract I won and performed was taken and given to my White colleagues. &nbsp;I&apos;ve had over 30 contracts, imagine that.
