Great thing about flx4 and similar controllers is that, even when you upgrade, you can still use it as a backup and for more portable or less serious setups and gigs. You really never need to sell it or throw it away.

I keep the Hercules in my bag as a last resort backup.  I've also used it when I have Karaoke since it takes no space at all.  It's useful on my desk at work for marking que points as well.

started with a DDJ REV1 because I wanted to learn scratching and it really helped me to learn.  within a year, I bought a DDJ REV7 and love it.

The "pocket toys" are fun once you know what you're doing and know your music. Friend and I threw down an impromptu set on the patio of a local bar with only a Hercules, two Beats speakers, and our phones with an app. Biggest challenge for me was not having full band EQ, but you could finesse the filter. That was a fun day 😆I still sort of want one to put in my car just in case a moment pops up like that ever again.

Epic video! I got the FLX 4 and later upgraded to the FLX 10 and it made me realize how much capability the FLX 4 has! I love the FLX 10 the most but I agree that the FLX 4 is the best beginner controller!

Great video. Really helpful. I’ve been meaning to start my DJ hobby for the longest time, and I’m still stuck. DJ as a hobby is quite expensive especially here in my location, and breaking down the controllers will greatly help. Keep it up!

Also for the Pioneer fans there's the Pioneer DJ pro headphone, with kabel and or bluetooth. After 7 years it left me never without power because it's 24 hours.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGNpWdo-iAw&t=288">4:48</a> - :face-green-smiling::face-green-smiling::face-green-smiling: -- when you have that perfect transition combo in your head and you must execute right away before you forget!  My first was the Numark NS6.  Looks like a toy, feels professional, has XLR outputs.  My gripe with cheap mini controllers are the short pitch faders; good luck beatmatching on 8 bars or less.  And then the RCA outputs, signal to noise is just not that great.  I had to carry an extra mixer with xlr outputs whenever I mobile small gigs with the DDJ400.
