We had the same situation with my neighbors cat, our last kitty had died a few months before the neighbors cat started visiting so it was delightful to have an occasional kitty visit. We had decided not to get another pet because we planned on doing some traveling. The neighbor’s kitty was always left outside, it was very cold and we had coyotes in the neighborhood so I began letting her in at night. Then she’d go home during the day. After a few months she stopped going back home anymore. It was confusing for us and probably her too. We had also given her treats. I felt pretty bad because our neighbors had kids that probably were missing her. I asked the neighbor to bring her home and keep her in the house for a while so she’d get used to being home again, but the neighbor was very angry and said we had stolen her cat and that was that. So here we are, 10 years later and she’s totally our cat now. But kitty made a decision that she wanted to stay. Of course we love her to death ❤

He definitely loves Gunny...the tail hugs are a huge sign. If only all neighbours could be so caring and thoughtful about the neighbourhood animals.
