That was actually the best starter vid I've seen. Most other's just compare 1 or 2 ships but quickly going over all and being honest about their pros and cons is extremely helpful.

My favourite, and the one I recommend to new players, is whichever is cheapest in the game package store.

Both the titan and Aurora mk2 are are great but an interesting thing i have learned is with the combat module the Aurora mk2 is an amazing fighter. Sure the titan has bigger guns but the mk2 has more shields, more armor, and can turn slightly better. But the cargo being split is a very big issue so for the best all arounder, the titan is definitely the best but I personally prefer the mk2 for my new daily driver just cause if I need to get into a fight I have a better chance escaping. Also the mk2 has like 200 more quantum fuel.

I started constellation Taurus and I’m extremely happy with it

I started with the Intrepid :) I really wanted a nice interior, I imagined having it for "camping" near friends bases in the future.
I then grinded in-game for the C1 as my next step up for more cargo.

Cutlass black if you want to do a hit if everything it's just so great to be able to fit vehicles and and cargo boxes in there for a nice payday

Thank you for the starter code! I'm still deciding on a ship though lol

Bought the cutlass black 4 years ago, my daily driver over titan, aruora mk2 and the mustang.

I've recently tested how it would be to go from a starter ship up to the next tier with combat, mining, salvage, and cargo hauling. My 2c is that everyone should just buy 1 tier up from the beginner ships. It's a ridiculous grind that no one should have to do.

I say to simply buy the cheapest game-pack that's at the time available (on SALE or whatever), and if you like the game (when it sorta works, unlike now), you can upgrade just that specific ship that came with it (and still keep the whatever else u had with the pack) to something more usable, or whatever role u more interested in the game. (its might be even cheaper this way)
For example: you buy the Aurora Mk.II pack; and upgrade just the ship for a Nomad; if u want to earn money with entry cargo contacts, but still want to do bunker jobs, mercenary, and lower risk bounties with it + it can carry a mining vehicle too.

I started with the Intrepid and loved it enough that even after upgrading it into a Nomad, I re-pledged it. Something about that size 4 hard point on a starter ship is just too much fun. I think it's an important reassurance to new players that currently the starter game packages actually have a host of really good ships. Many can be multi-purpose, and the few niche ones (Golem, Salvation) still cater to players who KNOW they want to learn something in-depth. That said, the best starter is the one that appeals to you the most. 👍 (But the Intrepid's definitely the coolest. 😉)
