Tyler Durden states: "Self-improvement is masturbation!" - Whenever Tyler and Marla bang it out in the adjacent room, Jack is reading self-help books and working out.

There is one hint you missed (as does everyone else)……Fight club is my favourite film. I have watched it many many times and seen loads of videos relating to theories and hidden meanings etc. not one has mentioned a “hint” that I saw the second time I watched it. when “Jack” leaves the hotel  where marla lives there is graffiti on the wall where you can clearly see the words “MYSELF” written 3 times. Yup three times. No way was that a coincidence

I see a lot of new faces here tonight. That means a lot of you have been breaking the first two rules of Fight Club

Everyone's forgetting his 3rd alter ego, the one that comes out when he's angry. You wouldn't like it when he's angry....

I can put a stop to this theory.  unlike Tyler people interact with Marla.  The members of the club  , the guy serving them the coffee in the cafe.

Here is the BIGGEST problem with this hypothesis: both the book AND the movie are quite explicit that Tyler Durden and the Narrator are the same person. Marla isn't given the same treatment. She is presented as a real person -- from start to finish.

I agree about "Tyler"...Jack and Tyler are the same person.  However I disagree about Marla.  There are several instances where people at least seem to interact with (or react to) Marla.   Plus you have to assume that at least some of the stuff in the movie is actually happening.   Its seems like Marla is ultimately what brings Tyler/Jack back together as a single individual.  Bob is also real and probably at least some of the Project Mayhem guys, its Bob's death that start Jack's awakening.

Near the end, a project mayhem says he recommends the lady not have soup.  showing that she is not just in the narrator's head.
