  I agree with you completely, he’s not one of THE worst characters in the show and it’s unfortunate how he’s portrayed as the perv who just likes anime boobs half the time. He actually has a great power and when he’s not being a weirdo he’s actually pretty cool. And the way Horikoshi had described how he had passed the entrance exam was super impressive too.

  I had the idea for a better Mineta backstory, where a lot of his perverted behavior comes from family issues. The backstory would be that Mineta only had male role models in his family growing up without a mom or any sisters, and his dad and/or brothers are very much stuck in that toxic dudebro mentality, where you have to be a man, be tough, no means maybe, all that bullshit, and thanks to being short and pretty nerdy, he focuses on the objectifying women behavior since he obviously wants the approval of his family.<br><br>Once he gets into UA though, Mineta finally gets first hand experience about how strong and cool girls can be, and he finds better male role models like Izuku, and even models of positive masculinity like Kirishima. So, as the class gets closer and trauma-bonds after stuff like the USJ and the training camp invasion, Mineta genuinely wants to do better, both about how he acts with the girls in class and in his hero training, so that he can be worthy of his place in Class 1A.<br><br>Also i think it&apos;d be endearing and cute if him being gross by making comments about the girl&apos;s bodies turned into him making actual thoughtful comments, like complimenting Momo on always being so thoughtful about everyone&apos;s preferences about stuff like food to order for the dorm.

  I think the main reason why people didn’t like Mineta was because the fans expected the show to be better than that. They expected it to not be like every other anime where they would do better when it comes to characterizing the girls, having more interesting storylines and not having a pervert joke, character. <br>The fans didn’t realize that compared to Western cartoons. It’s surprisingly far behind when it comes to being progressive enough to not do inappropriate things with minors.

  Really good video love the concept!!! <br>My idea for Mineta would be that whilst he isn’t nearly as bad as he is in the series he does have a couple problems. Like idk maybe he’s kinda weird about Midnight but then he gets her as his mentor or something. He learns abt hero society and how some costumes are they way they are because it works better with their quirks and like because they need popularity. Idk kinda similar to how Sokka in ATLA learns to not be sexist. Mineta could like get his whips then from Midnight who (i think???) uses them and like could be like a sweet mini arc. It would flesh out the world a bit more too. Idk maybe it could also be a different character so Mineta could still be comic relief but yeah. :))

  Even as a teen and even though I know how gross Mineta&apos;s is now, I&apos;ve always thought the Fandom was hypocritical asf for hating him.<br><br>Like, you&apos;re telling me Mineta&apos;s a bad person for being weird to the other characters, <b>but</b> it&apos;s all okay when YOU yourselves do it?

  Bro finally someone said it 😭 people are legit fine with characters being creeps and pervs as long as they’re attractive (example is Yamai from Komi can’t communicate who imo is worse and creepier than Mineta) it’s kinda just showing that people do really judge because of looks and ik he is creepy but SO many people have done worse (or it’s a anime thing I never watched the anime and I heard it’s a bit different so maybe he’s just written differently compared to the few MHA manga I’ve read)
