In the 1980s I was helping my Mum clean her kitchen cupboards. I came across a saucer. I asked where the cup was. She told that the saucer was all she has left from the full dinner serv8ce she chose when they married in the 1950s. So I went looking and found her a plate and a cup..that gave her a trio. That grew to a 300 plus piece collection. I bought her another complete set for their 50th wedding anniversary. It was Apple Blossom by Grindley. James Kent and others used the same pattern. The ONLY thing we have yet to find...is a toast rack. I am flying to Britain from Australia in a couple of months . I am going to search every antique shop. Mum is almost 90 now...I have promised her ...if there is an Apple Blosson toast rack anywhere in Britain...I will find it!! The pressure is real!!!

I was given a Royal Albert cup and saucer by an old lady who use to come into the place where I worked in the early 1990’s. Under the cup it reads Royal Albert, Bone China, England and says Flower of the month series, Sweet Pea and inside the cup reads April my birth month. She was sweet and brought it for me as a little birthday gift for me! I placed it in my cabinet and that is where it sits after all these years. I think of her thoughtfulness and kindness when I look at that cup and saucer! 😊

I have my great, great grandfathers, (from my grandfather's side), Bone China cup and saucer - it has a number in GOLD 250 on both the cup and saucer. Both are in excellent condition for its age.
My grandmother gave it to me before she passed 40yrs ago.
As much as I hold this dear to my heart - family lineage - my son has said to me my "house is full of shit" and when I passed "off to the 2nd hand shop".
I do not or will not have any grandchildren to pass this onto, so, I'm thinking? sell with other valuable items, and enjoy what life still holds for me.

I really enjoyed this video. I have professionally restored many of these pieces over the years for collectors, dealers and people looking to restore a family heirloom. Marks are very important in identifying manufacturer, artist, country and year. I am retired now but always enjoyed my work and the variety of items that crossed my art. Meissen, Beleek, Dresden, Sitzendorf, Moorcroft, Limoges, Haviland, Clarice Cliff, Chantilly, Hummel as well as antique doll restoration. Restoring these beautiful pieces to their original state was the most fullfilling work. The work never got boring. Always a new challenge. l am 75 now and due to health reasons I am no longer able to do this work. But I have some wonderful memories.

When we cleared out my mom's estate, we found a lot of old china. Some of it looked very old - Staffordshire, dated in the late 1700s on the back. Unfortunately, we only ever found all the saucers. The cups were missing. I remember seeing the cups and saucers sitting together in my grandmother's china cabinet, she had the entire service, including teapot, etc. I guess I'll never know what happened to the other pieces!

Oldest cup and saucer my grandmother gave me is a Royal Albert. It was last used by his holiness the 16th Karmapa Rinpoche.

You just popped up in my feed, thank goodness. The year my mom passed she asked me if I would like to pick a few of her teacup and saucers for myself. I picked around 6 not even thinking. After watching your video I went to the garage and got them out. I found a signed double warrant Paragon. Heavy gold trim and pattern with cabbage rose with other flowers in the inside of teacup and center of saucer. Thank you just for reminding me how pretty these teacups are.

Greetings from New Zealand. I have a cup and saucer with EST 1778, AYNSLEY, ENGLAND, Bone China. It was given to me by my dearly loved sister-in-law when I helped paint the lounge of the house they had sold. The saucer has LIL 6/7 (or CIC 6/7). It is yellow outside with pretty flowers each side and quite a bit of gold decoration and in excellent condition.
