  I think a big part of the reason why scams like these manage to succeed for so long is that no one wants to be the one to say "I think you're lying about your cancer"

  I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she got pregnant on purpose just to try to get a lighter sentence. The level of manipulation you have to be willing to engage in to pull something like this off makes me question everything that person does and says.

  A lot of people are quick to assume Brad was involved, but it doesn't make sense that he would take out two loans for her treatment if he knew that she was lying.

  despite how awful lucy's lie was, i do find it kind of sweet how everyone rallied around her to provide as much support as they could. i wish that support could have gone to someone who needed it, because it's wonderful how a community can come together to do good.
