  Put a few inches of survey tape on the back of those darts to stream behind and help find in the grass. That’s what I do.

  To test the stability of model rockets, you tie a long string around the center of gravity and swing around yourself. If it swings smoothly, it should fly that way. Might be a good way to test new ones without breaking them.

  Hi man 🖐 I&apos;m Bulgarian and as a child we used to make them, but we put the arrow in a wooden tube(full or cut in half) through the straps, for guidance. For a short distance it works just by swinging the tube, without using the straps, because the arrow is relatively heavy. <br>P.S. In my opinion, it is also completely possible to modify it, to shoot a group of arrows. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to reconstruct this kind of wepends. Here we excavate over 7000-year-old fortresses with battles and fires with hundreds of arrowheads and war balls of many different types. &nbsp;<br>Your channel is great!   There is a video done by another slinger by the name of Acroballistics here on youtube that goes into great detail about the Kestros sling dart, and may shed some further light on them and perhaps aid in your future attempts with them. He had issues with several versions some not dissimilar to the one used here with flight until he found additional info from the period and modified his design and after which they worked well and have a lot of penetration and stable flight.   One thing I could think of is the back end, make an arrow knock instead of a loop. The loop just kind of uses the feathers as a brace to deliver the force of the release, with an arrow knock could probably deliver a more substantial and straight force.

  One thing that&apos;s key with this is that there is a minimum effective distance. Throw from to close and these miniature plumbata (which is essentially what they are) don&apos;t have time to stabilize in flight. &nbsp;Gotta back off quite a bit for that shield penetration test.
