As teens in the early 80's. We didn't know about pH & had huge beautiful indoor plants using 20-20-20 & 10-60-10 garden plant food 🤨

I add dry silica amendment to my ro water before adding the ph down. This gives the ph down something to grab on to. <br> Hope this helps someone growing dwc.

This grow i have been running salts, my tap comes in fairly neutral and the salts i use balance to around 6. But, just to be safe I am throwing in some recharge with every water. I also don't go to runoff because im lazy and dont want to dispose of the excess. Harvested 3 plants so far and it's been working out great. Good stuff guys!

I use Sensi grow and bloom with perfect pH technology. I couldn’t mess my pH up if I wanted to.

The first time I did DWC, I used tap water, I did everything wrong and the plants got massive and the buds were dank af. The 2nd time I did everything right and I had a bunch of issues, I went back to doing everything wrong and that's where I'm at. I spent some good money on a ph tester, $150.00 and as long as you calibrate it every other month and maintain it properly, it's awesome I've had it for 4 years and it's still working great.

PH reagent works great for coco. No calibration required. I ditched the pH pen long ago

The reason why RO and to a lesser extent rainwater lack ph buffering and react too quickly to adjustments is from a lack of bicarbonate. Adding 0.1g of potassium bicarbonate per liter of purified water will make your solution much more stable and easier to control in terms of pH. This is for the same reason that swimming pool guys add "alkalinity control" which is really baking soda/sodium bicarbonate to help keep the ph stable. We don't want sodium so use potassium bicarb intead.

Big time learning curve on this topic. I have been mixing my soil using peat moss, compost and perlite. The water I use is hard and has a high ph. Trying to get a system going is a challenge. If I use ph down , I will mix up a gallon of water with 5 ml and it sets until I’m ready to water. I started with vinegar, but that faded. The ph down seems to remain good for days. I get a little runoff when I water, and test the ph and ppm from that to get n idea of how my soil is doing. Only my second grow, so gotta ways to go yet, but this is a really cool show man. Thanks
