she probably wouldn't want to go back to Westeros due to the "stealing the dragon eggs" bit of the story.

Wild pigs exist on islands in the real world because sailors would deliberately leave them there to multiply, that way they could return on subsequent trips and have a guaranteed supply of meat. I would imagine Martin is aware of this.. if so, you know what that means: they weren't the first people to visit that island.. and more than likely it means the people who left them there intended for themselves/others to make them same trip (or the reverse trip).

"To go west you must go east."<br>Maybe the original plan for Dany was to go to Asshai and then sail east to get to Westeros.

The three isolated islands of Aegon, Rhaenys, and Visenya remind me of the Portuguese owned Azores, which are in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.<br><br>Also the presence of wild pigs on the islands could be an indication that sailors had landed there previously. In real life, sailors would intentionally drop off pigs on isolated islands so they had a reliable source of food to catch the next time they or someone else passed near there

Not that GRRM needs more projects… but a story about an explorer sailing west and having adventures in the Sunset Sea could be really enjoyable.

It’s strange that the maesters haven’t figured out the size of the planet. With a little middle school geometry and careful measurements they can recon it within a few percentage of accuracy.
