Moonshine, often romanticized as a simple country pleasure, has a darker side. It's dangerous to produce, sometimes deadly to consume, and illegal. In the Blue Ridge Mountains, moonshining is more than a tradition-it's a way of life deeply intertwined with local culture and history. Despite its illicit nature, many see it as a source of Southern pride and heritage.

I was a severe drinker for over 20 years.... I treated the moonshine like 80 proof. WOW! was I wrong. From that day forward, moonshine was only for special occasions. That's all behind me though. 4 years  sober March 2. 🎯
