The movie Assassins (2020) is a documentary that covers the reality of the assassination of Kim Jong-nam, which occurred at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia in late 2017. Here is a summary of why every South Korean citizen must watch this movie and why it should be viewed based on facts, without historical distortion. Reasons why South Korean citizens must watch Assassins 1. The full story of a real incident threatening peace and security on the Korean Peninsula This incident is not merely a figment of imagination found in a crime movie; it is a real political assassination that took place just a few years ago targeting a figure (Kim Jong-nam) who was at the center of the geopolitical situation on the Korean Peninsula. You can witness firsthand how the North Korean regime's clandestine and brutal operations are executed, and the impact that had on East Asian security. 2. Assassination Disguised as a Reality Show Using Ordinary Individuals The two women who carried out the incident (Siti Aisyah of Indonesia and Doan Thi Huong of Vietnam) were deceived by North Korean agents' lies that they were filming a "prank video" and ended up smearing the lethal weapon VX nerve agent on their hands and rubbing it on Kim Jong-nam's face. It vividly demonstrates how innocent and ordinary individuals can be used as scapegoats and weapons in a massive political conspiracy. 3. Meticulous Fact-Checking and an Fair Perspective This film is a documentary meticulously produced by Director Ryan White based on court records, CCTV footage, interviews with those involved in the case, and media reports. By providing a record centered on thorough "facts" rather than fake news or distorted rumors, it allows for an objective understanding of the hidden aspects of international politics surrounding the Korean Peninsula. Key Points to Know to Watch the Film Without Historical Distortion It is a "documentary," not fiction. This film is not a commercial movie featuring actors, but is composed of actual CCTV footage, court records, and interviews with the parties involved. Brainwashing and Deceptive Tactics by North Korean Agents Prior to the incident, the two women practiced dozens of times, believing they were filming for a "YouTube prank." It is crucial to recognize the unvarnished truth regarding how North Korean agents exploited the modern media environment and the psychology of ordinary people. Legal and Diplomatic Realities of the International Community The North Korean agents who actually orchestrated the assassination calmly left the scene and fled back to their home country, leaving only the two women who were exploited to stand trial. We must face the bitter reality of how the main culprits hiding behind the incident evaded the law, allowing the case to be concluded within diplomatic relations. #TheAssassins #TheAssassinsMovie #TheKimJongNamAssassination #DocumentaryFilm #DocumentaryBasedOnTrueStory #HistoricalFacts #KoreanPeninsulaSecurity #NorthKoreanOperations #VXNerveAgent #TragedyOfTheHiddenCamera #FactCheck #ANationThatForgetsItsHistoryHasNoFuture #MovieRecommendation #MustWatchMovie #SouthKoreaSecurity #InternationalPolitics #RyanWhite 📌 Subscribe to Issue Brunch to check out more diverse and incisive contexts on current affairs! 👉 If you enjoyed this video, please [Subscribe], [Like], and [Turn on Notifications]! #TheAssassins #TheAssassinsMovie #TheKimJongNamAssassination #DocumentaryFilm #DocumentaryBasedOnTrueStory #HistoricalFacts #KoreanPeninsulaSecurity #NorthKoreanOperations #VXNerveAgent #TragedyOfTheHiddenCamera #FactCheck #ANationThatForgetsItsHistoryHasNoFuture #MovieRecommendation #MustWatchMovie #SouthKoreaSecurity #InternationalPolitics #RyanWhite
