  I really appreciate you making this with a genuinely nuanced perspective. This is a complicated game because of what it isn't. It isn't a full follow-up to disco, but it isn't necessarily a huge AAA studio release. It is still a piece of messy art, but differently and with different texture than disco. Disco also came about from a specific set of people carrying their own baggage and kind of manifesting it into a game, this is now a new game from an established studio. I think the royal we might not love this, but I sure might and I'm glad I got your more expressive opinion beforehand.

  i only got DE a few months ago, and was excited for this, i had already bought it and only stumbled across the controversy after looking up reviews. its still a very good game

  I havent finished the video yet but the Kurt quest line really made me feel something. I can’t describe it. There was a sad hopelessness in his voice. This is so common in the real world. He is an idiot yes, but he is harmless and was ultimately prey for the bank.

  Your video has moved my internal calculus on whether I wanted to play Zero Parades. Originally, I was vehemently against it... I was so certain that it was going to be artless. How could something like the new ZA/UM make anything but? I&apos;m sure there are dozens of talented developers who were extremely passionate about this project, and it&apos;s so difficult to square the fact that they work for a company that so mistreated some of my favorite artists. But, most of my favorite games were made by mega corporations with worse ethics. It&apos;s all so complicated -- just like the game itself. <br>Thanks for your videos.

  I feel bad. There are likely so many people behind Zero Parades who are genuine artists and truly believe in what they&apos;re making, but being under the banner of ZA/UM puts them in probably the worst situation possible in terms of publicity. There are far worse game companies than ZA/UM out there, in the way that they treat their talent and consumers, but the legacy of Disco Elysium and how personal it is to so many people makes a bigger boogie-man out of them than some far larger corporations. I guess people think, because of their relatively small size, a boycott will do more damage to them than, say, Microsoft, but it could simultaneously hurt the actual artists involved just as much, if not more.<br><br>There is no right answer. I think, for me, I will give the game a fair shot when I get the chance. It doesn&apos;t need to be Disco Elysium 2, it just needs to have soul.

  I <i>really</i> would love to hear your take on Hershel and Melita&apos;s relationship. Just you hinting at the way it affected you has resonated with me already.<br>Such a heart-wrenching and nuanced relationship that doesn&apos;t get brought up enough in talks about this game.

  It’s hard, cuz I want to give it a fair shot for the artists working at ZA/UM but after Locus city And slapping a banner for zero parades on the pause screen of Disco Elysium has soured me too damn much. Like I wish there was a way i could just pay the developers for their work and not the studio, but that’s not how this works sadly. I feel so incredibly bad for any artists working at ZA/UM because I can only imagine how demoralizing it is to know that the majority of people who know about your game actively are rooting for it to fail. Thats why I can’t bring myself to wish for its downfall, despite everything. <br><br>It’s one of those shitty things about life, it’s too complicated to ever have a perfect solution unfortunately, and most likely a lot of people &nbsp;are going to lose their jobs due to shitty management.

  An interesting perspective. You&apos;ve strung your thoughts together well. I am very interested in the kinds of &apos;ethical discussions&apos; we have about culture as well as the ways we have them. <br><br>I will certainly be playing the game at some point this year.
