Don’t allow yourself to be deceived by the so-called intellectuals.<br>Africa’s underlying problem is not neocolonialism, but rather official corruption and very bad governance, which started from Nkrumah’s regime in Ghana and absence of technical skills to extract and add value to our natural resources.<br>If now fragmented Africa becomes a single entity in future and the underlying problems,especially bad governance now inhibiting economic growth in individual Africa countries persist the continent would still be an empty giant.<br>So clearly it makes sense to focus now on good governance in individual Africa countries before long lasting Africa integration can be achieved.<br>Otherwise very soon in future Africa leaders now enjoying their high level living standards of developed countries in their third world countries would have to meet again only to come up with another acronym to replace AU, which superseded OAU.<br>Xenophobic attacks in South Africa now would have been prevented,if there was good governance and jobs in every Africa country,since there would be no incentive for a Ghanaian to leave his country for a better employment in South Africa.<br>European Union is still thriving with the EU acronym because the Europeans,unlike Nkrumah of Ghana who used resources of his newly independent country without basic infrastructures such as roads and highways to spearhead a forced union with OAU acronym,didn’t rush to form a union until conditions on the ground allowed it.<br>They foresaw that a forced union with free movement of citizens protocol would merely empower citizens from member countries with bad governance and no jobs to migrate to member countries with good governance and jobs.<br>The purpose of different countries coming together to form a union is to maximize the benefits of comparative advantage in the production of goods and services, but not to be a platform for citizens of badly managed countries to migrate to member countries with good governance and jobs.
